Running up to Advent and Christmas, we turn our attention from David to great David’s greater son. In Matthew’s gospel, chapter 12, we find that Jesus is greater than.
• He is greater than the temple
• He is greater than Beelzebub
• He is greater than Jonah
• He is greater than Solomon.

On Advent Sunday (Nov 29th) we ask the question “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” from Luke 4 – a chapter we will remain in through most of December.

Having traced through the autumn into the winter the great king who would come and who would reign on David's throne forever, our focus for the new year will be "something different".

As we approach "
A Passion for Life: Wirral" - a mission with Rico Tice - the challenge will be to our mission as a church in Acts chapters 8 to 12.

During Lent we turn to an epistle - the second letter of Peter, and then return to the Old Testament with the account of Joseph after Easter.

As you can see, we like to have a balanced diet from the Word of God - Old and New Testament, gospel, narrative, letter, and so on.
