The International Children’s Bible has super age-appropriate illustrations and straightforward sentences which makes it an ideal first Bible (it is not an adult’s Bible with children’s pictures in).
As soon as a child is familiar with the major Bible stories, (and perhaps has already enjoyed The Jesus Storybook Bible and/or The Big Picture Bible,) they really need to be given a full text Bible. This Bible was translated for a reading age 6-12. It is great for children who want to look up or find a specific Chapter and verse in their Bible. We reached the stage where our daughter would ask a question and the answer was not covered in the stories selected in her young reader’s Bible…that was when we took the plunge and gave her one of these!
