Community Initiatives Fund

Wirral Council’s Community Initiatives Fund (CIF) annually awards £10,000 to our area for local voluntary and community sector groups to make bids of up to £1000. In the Bromborough/Eastham area in which New Ferry sits, this funding is administered by the Area Forum. CIF has been very good to New Ferry over the years, awarding funds for the NFRAG newsletters, the annual Fun Day, Christmas Lights, and the Ferry Tots Group who are based in the Village Hall. Lairdside Fund
Lairdside Communities Trust offers grants from revenues generated through its Social Enterprise Initiative – Royal Standard House. They can offer small grants of up to £250 to community and other voluntary organisations in this area. There is no restriction on the purposes for which a grant may be used, but it must provide a bona fide community benefit.

The Wirral Voluntary & Community Sectors’ Network has a website called Wirral 4 Community. Registration is free, and once you have done so you can have access to a database of organisations that give funding to group in Wirral.

If you live in the New Ferry area, you can apply for a grant to help towards the cost of course fees of up to £200.  Courses are available that will:-
Help you prepare for, or make progress in, employment
Improve your skills as a volunteer
Assist with your personal development
